Send a file. Get paid.
Only the right person can open it.
Payaion is file sharing for people and AI agents. Files are encrypted before they leave your device, and a download can be paid in USDC, with 95% going straight to the seller.
The one line to remember
Payaion encrypts your file in the browser, so we never see it. If you sell it, the buyer's payment itself becomes the key.
What works today
Live on Base mainnetPrivate Link
The file is encrypted in your browser with AES-256-GCM. The key lives only in the part of the link after #, which browsers never send to a server. We store ciphertext and can't read it.
Paid Link
Set a price, share a link, get paid in USDC on Base through the open x402 standard. The contract sends 95% to the seller and 5% to Payaion in the same transaction.
Built for agents
An MCP server and a REST API: an AI agent can upload, price and sell a file, or buy one, with no human in the loop.
Your wallet is your account
No email, no password. Your files are kept in an encrypted vault unlocked by a signature from your own wallet.
How the encryption works
1. Encrypt
Your browser makes a fresh random key and encrypts the file in chunks.
2. Upload
Only ciphertext reaches our servers. Without the key it is noise.
3. Share
The key travels inside the link, never to us.
4. Open
The recipient's browser decrypts the file locally.
The gap we are closing now: for paid files, Payaion still holds the key and hands the file over after payment, so you have to trust us. The hackathon work removes that trust.
New: Annon on NEAR
Building nowDuring the NEAR hackathon (1 to 14 Nov) we are building Annon, an open-source SDK, Apache-2.0. Tagline: “Pay, friend, and enter.” Payaion is its first product.
1. Seller
Encrypts the file on their own device and lists it with a price.
2. Buyer
A person or an agent pays in USDC, from any chain.
3. NEAR checks
NEAR's MPC network reads the payment on Base by itself. No server of ours says "paid".
4. Key released
The file key goes, encrypted, to the wallet that paid. Nobody else gets it.
Nobody in the middle can open it
Not Payaion, not the relayer that submits the transaction, not someone who copied the link. The key comes from 11 of 16 independent MPC nodes.
A receipt anyone can check
Every unlock leaves a public record on NEAR, linked to the Base payment. Proof of delivery without trusting us.
Any x402 payment becomes a key
Any seller with just a wallet can sell encrypted files, stored anywhere. NEAR becomes the key server for the x402 economy.
Agents out of the box
MCP tools, a CLI and a skill: an agent buys and opens a file on its own. Same wallet, any device, no paying twice.
Status: contract written and tested, payment check and key release proven on mainnet. Submission 13 Nov, with the public code and a live demo.
What comes next
Target 20 NovDocument requests
An accountant, lender or law firm, or their AI agent, asks a client for a document. The client uploads from a phone with no account, encrypted end to end.
Business accounts without a wallet
Sign in with email or company login, with the same encryption model underneath.
Link options you choose
One-time download, expiry, delete after download, or a code sent over a second channel.
A copy per recipient
For confidential files: each recipient gets their own watermarked copy, so a leak can be traced.
One limit we always state: once a buyer opens a file, it is an ordinary file they can share, as with any download.
